Ajay Purushothaman Thundathil is a highly motivated and passionate Data Scientist with almost 4 years of experience in various machine learning techniques for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics for sales, marketing, security in technology fields. He specializes in Data Analytics for gameplay design, UX, monetization, and retention. In addition, he has recently been applying Data Science to Genomic Technologies as well. Currently, Ajay is working as a Senior Data Scientist at Verizon, where he is responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models to improve the company's business operations. Prior to this, he worked as a Data Science Researcher at Gustave Roussy, where he conducted research on the Genome Wide Association study held in Gustave Roussy that focuses on building data models to better identify cancer to DNA mutation. He helped clean, prepare and build an ensemble classification model (LightGBM) to identify all blood cancers due to the JAK2 mutation. Ajay has been contributing to this project through remote work from Texas, USA. Before joining Gustave Roussy, Ajay worked as a Lead Developer at Zygobot, where he collaborated and led a group of 3 developers to develop DinoTanks - A Third Person vehicular shooter made in Unity. He implemented the Enemy AI, Navigation, Power Ups, Special Attacks, and Rewards Systems, and built and maintained custom tool editors for level designers that helped with enemy spawning, creating level objectives and game data management. Ajay holds a Master of Science degree in Game and Interactive Media Design from Full Sail University, a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Games and Programming Skills from NIT Calicut, and completed his schooling at Our Own High School, Al Warqa'a, Dubai. He is proficient in Research Scientist, Data Scientist, ML, and AI. With a relevant experience of 6.87 years, Ajay is an expert in his field and is always striving to learn and grow.
